About Us

The Design Consortium, a Minnesota Organization established in 1989, is a group of engineering professionals with our offices in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. All principal members are graduate engineers with energy conservation experiences dating from the 1970s.

We believe our success is the result of our commitment to energy conservation, water conservation, and materials conservation, as well as reducing building impacts on the environment and on human health. We achieve these goals by our experience, creativity, use of the latest technology, and excellent communication with the building owner/ facilities manager who becomes a vital member of the team at all phases of the process.

We pride ourselves in our ability to “fine tune” all systems and components of the building with the ultimate goal of significantly reducing energy use which also reduces the building impact on the environment. Any time there is less heating and cooling energy being used, the byproduct is less pollution.

Energy conservation can have a significant affect on your bottom line. Imagine your energy bills cut by 1/4, 1/3, or even 1/2. These types of savings are the norm. You could be more competitive for your customers, reinvest the savings and create better results for shareholders, and even take a great vacation. Plus, we achieve our goals without compromising

building comfort or building air quality. The initial cost can be what ever you want it to be. Start with the low cost, fast payback improvements first, and let those savings pay for the other improvements. You will have our list of recommendations with costs and payback periods; from there on, you are in charge.
